Most popular programming languages right now
The programming language Kotlin is the “hot new thing”, according to the Tiobe Index for June 2017.
The index stated that Google announcing Kotlin as the third official programming language for Android coincided with it climbing into its top 50 ranking, coming in at number 43.
“Hack and Rust are moving up in the top 50 as well,” stated the report.
The top 10 lists of the Tiobe Index and PYPL ranking saw familiar languages at the top, with Java coming in first place in both instances.

PYPL – The more a language tutorial is searched, the more popular the language is assumed to be. The raw data comes from Google Trends.
Tiobe – The ratings are based on the number of skilled engineers worldwide, courses, and third-party vendors. Popular search engines are also used to calculate the ratings.
