Awesome new WhatsApp features – The details

Whatsapp on phone in hand

WhatsApp has improved its file-sharing capabilities, and now allows users to send any type of file up to 100MB.

This is an improvement over its initial attachment feature, which only allowed people to send PDF documents to contacts.

“WhatsApp allows you to send documents to your contacts, just as you would send media, contacts, or a location. The maximum allowed file size is 100MB,” it said.

The 100MB file size also applies to images.

Another new WhatsApp feature is the ability to see all your pictures and videos in the app camera by swiping up.

“If you’re sending lots of photos at once, they’ll now be grouped into a gallery that only displays five images with the last thumbnail displaying how many additional photos have been sent,” Engadget reported.

Other enhancements include design improvements for voice and video calls, and the ability to tap and hold when typing text in chat to bold, strikethrough, or italicize it.

The new WhatsApp features are currently being rolled out globally.
