Plex DVR removes commercials from TV

Plex Logo

Plex is launching a new feature that skips advertisements in recorded TV content, reported Cord Cutters News.

Plex is able to locate commercials in media recorded using a TV tuner card, and then removes them before it is stored in your library.

The process could take a long time and cause high CPU usage, said Plex.

The feature works across all platforms, except FreeBSD and devices that are unable to transcode. It is only available as a beta to Plex Pass subscribers.

Plex Pass is available for $4.99 per month.
