Facebook’s big plans for Messenger
Facebook Messenger has 1.3 billion users, and the company has now revealed its plans to improve its service to these users.
Facebook wants to make Messenger “the best way to spend time together when you’re apart”.
“We want to make Messenger the best way to organise a night out with friends, do your homework, or simply connect.”
This will be achieved by focusing on the areas listed below.
- Realtime communications – Invest in real-time communications to make sure users can easily stay connected.
- Group chats – Messenger group chats will receive more features.
- Simplification – Invest in “massively simplifying and streamlining Messenger this year”.
- Visual messaging – Focus on visual messaging, and continue to drive these features in future.
- Customer Care – Evolve Messenger as a true customer care channel.
- Marketing Channel – Users can expect investments in rich messaging from companies through Messenger.
