Microsoft claims that they have been listening to consumers and are aiming to address many of the problems faced by Windows Vista in the new operating system.

According to Balmer special attention has been given to performance and streamlining the system’s interface. Microsoft claims that Windows 7 will be lighter, tighter, and more secure than Windows Vista.

The new interface design is intended to simplify the things people do every day on their PCs.  Things like networking PCs, sharing printers and accessing files, music, photos and videos have been made easier in Windows 7.
