Bartz resigns from Yahoo board

Yahoo

Carol Bartz, the ex-CEO of Yahoo has resigned from her position on the company’s board after being fired as CEO according to an unnamed sourced cited by The Wall Street Journal.

The board gave no reason for firing Bartz, which was done over the phone early last week. Bartz held the CEO position for 30 months during which time Yahoo performed poorly.

Bartz lashed out at the board during an interview with Fortune magazine saying they were under huge pressure after rejecting a $44.6 billion buyout offer from Microsoft in 2008.

“The board was so spooked by being cast as the worst board in the country,” said Bartz. “Now they’re trying to show that they’re not the doofuses that they are.”
