Carrier IQ exec: “We’ve learnt lessons”
In an interview with Cnet, vice president of marketing at Carrier IQ Andrew Coward shed some light on how the executives have learnt from the Carrier IQ scandal.
When asked whether Carrier IQ executives wished that they had handled things differently, Coward replied, “One of the lessons we’ve had from this, clearly we should not have done that cease and desist. We were concerned about the information getting into the hands of competitors and concerned about reaction from customers.”
“What may have been the right response three or four years ago may not be the right response for now and we apologized. We did not expect that we would need to be so open and transparent about everything.”
Coward went on, saying that he hoped the public backlash did not affect Carrier IQs business. He was quick to point out that the executives feel that their business is legitimate and there is a requirement to help network operators provide consumers with a better experience.
