iPad 3 image emerges
An image leaked online claiming to show the back of the unannounced Apple iPad 3 is doing the rounds online, and has the rumour mill working in overdrive.
Initially leaked by Repair Labs, the image shows an iPad 2 rear casing on the left, next to what appears to be an iPad 3 casing on the right. 9to5Mac managed to secure a higher resolution image which appears below.
“Sources familiar with the matter” on all of the major news sites see the casing as more confirmation that the iPad 3 will feature a 2048 x 1536 resolution retina display and an updated camera.
Some sources have noted that the A6 chipset found in the iPad 3 will be dual-core only, though this goes against previous rumours of a quad-core enabled tablet releasing this year.
Other rumours indicate that the iPad 3 will feature LTE support, and release sometime in early March 2012.
