Google dominates search

Google is the dominant force in the Internet search industry, accounting for 66.2 percent of the market share and growing by 0.3 percent in the last month.

This is according to comScore, who released its Core Search Share report yesterday, comparing search traffic between December 2011 and January 2012.

Microsoft also gained a marginal amount of market share, rising 0.1 percent for a total market share of 15.2 percent.

Yahoo retained its third place in the list; however the struggling web giant lost 0.4 percent of its market share as it dropped to 14.1 percent.

Ask network and AOL rounded off the list, holding 3 percent and 1.6 percent market share respectively.
