Apple proposes settlement with Android

In a surprising move, Apple may consider a settlement with Android manufacturers.

This is in contrast to their previous approach where former CEO Steve Jobs promised to crush Android – no matter what the cost.

The Down Jones newswires reported that Apple have proposed settlements to at least two Android smartphone vendors, Motorola and Samsung.

Under the proposed terms, Apple will collect royalties of between $5 and $15 for each Android handset sold.

If the report is accurate, it represents an about-turn from Apple’s approach under Jobs, who vowed to destroy Android.

”I will spend my last dying breath if I need to, and I will spend every penny of Apple’s $40 billion in the bank, to right this wrong,” Jobs said. “I’m going to destroy Android, because it’s a stolen product. I’m willing to go thermonuclear war on this.”
