Facebook integration boosts app users by millions

Facebook

Facebook has revealed that it directed over 160 million users to mobile applications in April, up from 60 million users in late February.

The social media giant also reported that seven of the top ten grossing Apple iOS apps, and six of Android’s top 10, sported Facebook integration.

“As mentioned in previous highlights, features like ‘Single Sign On’ and ‘Open Graph’ increase [installations], usage, and re-engagement for mobile apps, regardless of whether they are built for iOS, Android or the mobile web,” mobile product marketing manager, Jonathan Matus said in a statement.

Facebook also highlighted how it has assisted growth of new mobile apps.

Social network, BranchOut has grown from 1 million active users to over 12 million in three months since the application integrated with Facebook.

Meanwhile, iOS app, Viddy has seen its community grow to more than 16 million registered users since it implemented Facebook integration.
