Amazon smartphone already in testing phase

News regarding an Amazon smartphone has been floating around for a little while already, and now the rumoured device is said to be in testing phases.

The smartphone is reportedly being trialled by Asian component suppliers, Foxconn, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal.

The information also suggests that the screen size of the phone will be between four and five inches, and that the device will aim to rival that of the iPhone and Android-based phones.

Amazon has recently been beefing up its portfolio, as the company has been filing multiple wireless technology patents over the last couple months.

Rumours suggest that the device will be revealed, and possibly made available, within the fourth quarter of 2012.
