Earlier today SEACOM’s international backhaul links between Marseille (France) and London (UK) were disrupted. SEACOM said that it “is experiencing partial network interruptions which are unrelated to the configuration work taking place in the Arabian Sea.”
The downtime started on Friday morning, and the exact reason for the problems has not been established yet. “We are liaising with our partners to establish the reasons,” SEACOM said.
Outages on SEACOM have become common, but are typically related to transit from SEACOM partners rather than downtime on the cable itself.
SEACOM confirmed that the problem has been resolved, and according to anecdotal evidence most clients’ international connectivity was restored before 14:00.
