New Cell C Wi-Fi calling launch window

Cell C is testing its Wi-Fi calling service internally and will launch it commercially in mid-September, a spokesperson has confirmed.
The company had targeted the end of July to launch the service, but it said it wanted to include more handsets capable of Wi-Fi calling in its portfolio before going live.
“We will provide more details closer to the date,” said Cell C.
When Cell C first announced plans to launch Wi-Fi calling, the company said the service would let subscribers make voice calls while travelling overseas without incurring roaming charges.
You will also be able to make calls on your home data network.
Wi-Fi calling came back into the spotlight when the current version of Apple’s mobile operating system, iOS 8, was set to support the feature.
In the United States, Wi-Fi calling has been available to Android users on T-Mobile for some time.
Services such as Skype, Google Hangouts, and Viber also offer the ability to make calls to landline and mobile phones over a data network at lower prices than roaming offers.
These require you to sign up for an account, though, as well as recharge a separate account with airtime.
