ATC launches VoIP solution
Altech Technology Concepts (ATC) has entered the Voice over IP (VoIP) market, offering digital communication services over its next-generation network infrastructure.
The company says this infrastructure will enable it to provide world-class data and voice services that are unmatched in the market as most other service providers are still relying on legacy equipment.
“Quality of service is central to our business philosophy, which we can now fully realise with this new infrastructure that has been built from scratch to comfortably meet current and future data and voice needs,” said Wayne de Nobrega, CEO of Altech Technology Concepts.
De Nobrega said initial adoption of VoIP services in South Africa was slow, partly due to variable voice quality and bandwidth restrictions.
ATC’s entry into the market is in direct response to the accelerated demand for these services and is targeting enterprises and small businesses alike.
“Quality of service is paramount, with ATC deploying a quality measurement process that monitors and measures the quality of every call to ensure the company exceeds the high standards they have set for themselves,” ATC said in a press statement.
“This is assured through redundant voice switch architecture from where multiple paths link to ATC’s local and international carriers with which it has interconnection agreements. Customers are able to link into ATC’s VoIP switch and realise the financial benefits in a number of ways depending on their requirements.”
The service can be accessed across any last mile technology including ADSL, wireless, leased lines or fibre and by using a gateway device on an older PBX or fully functional VoIP PBX.
“This enables us to service large and small organisations with ease. We conduct a thorough assessment of the customer’s needs and technology to deliver the most appropriate solution in terms of cost and technology,” says de Nobrega.
He adds that cost alone should not be a deciding factor for companies looking to switch to VoIP as the quality and resilience of the network far outweighs short-term budgetary considerations.
“The savings from using VoIP vary from customer to customer based on usage patterns and their current solution,” he says.
ATC has started rolling out its services nationally while additional VoIP services, including hosted PBX, will be rolled out over the coming months once the testing process has been completed.
