Vox Telecom downtime update
Full restoration of hosting, voice, and e-mail services will occur “within the next 8 hours”, Vox Telecom announced on Twitter at 15:25 on Friday, 18 October 2013.
“Together with EMC, the replacement hardware has now been successfully installed,” Vox said.
This news comes after Vox Telecom’s executive head of network and operations, Shane Chorley, told MyBroadband that multiple hardware failures led to the current outage.
Chorley said that their Internet customers, such as those using @lantic’s consumer ADSL services, were not affected outside of the e-mail downtime.
Contributing factors to the repair time are the hardware lead-times and the time needed to resynchronise data to prevent data loss, Chorley said.
