Pay up or else, warns ICASA
ICASA has warned radio frequency spectrum licensees to pay their outstanding radio frequency license fees, or face the seizure of their radio equipment or even the closure of their business.
The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) said in a Sunday paper advertisement “ICASA calls on all Radio Frequency Spectrum Licensees who have not paid their fees for the period ending 31 March 2012 to do so as a matter of urgency”.
“Failure to pay the requisite radio license fee may lead to seizure of radio communications equipment, and closure of a licensee’s business operations,” ICASA warned.
The advertisement continued by providing payment and banking details for deposits, and contact details of the authority.
In recent months ICASA has been battling companies like WBS (iBurst) and ArcelorMittal over unpaid license fees.
