Like Totempole said, depending on how you use it, I'm sure it will last longer than 5hrs.

Big downgrade for me.
When I'm on the road travelling I can easily burn through 300mb in 30 minutes when downloading a days worth of emails...
Also not cool that this is being forced down customers throats...
Would be a lot fairer to give customers a choice... 300mb or 300minutes.

So if we take the average email size to be 100kb
307200/100 = 3 072 emails in one day ?
Seems legit.
E-mails i received for work purposes are a bit bigger then 100kb...
Invoice packs and shipping document packs up to 25mb per email....

Morning Guys, you do have the option of accessing those mails via mc2.mweb.co.za. This would bring some relief as you do not have to download the mails.
Unfortunately these mail don't go via my mweb email. They go via my work exchange account...

Please explain how I can access the free data on my Iphone? I have looked through the explaination but can't find where to change the settings from mobile data to mweb?

You will need to enable the wifi on the iPhone. When you want to connect with wifi, it should prompt you for a username and password. Once you get promtped, you will need to enter your mweb username and password.
This should allow you to use the wifi at the locations specified and not the mobile data.

The 300min/mb free data is Wifi data that can only be used at participating outlets/areas eg. certain Wimpy restaurants etc using a wifi compatible device.

Hehe, no probs. It would've been nice hey? They should actually think about getting an APN and including 3G usage as well, like with one of those all-in-one accounts one can get at Sainet.

The biggest problem with the free MWEB Wifi is that you have to use your MWEB username and password to access the network. Someone could sniff out your username/password on this public network and then have access to your email account, user settings, etc.
The other issue is that mc2.mweb.co.za page has no SSL encryption. These days free email providers provide SSL, why isn't MWEB doing the same, being a premium email provider?
I've only used MWEBs Wifi twice in the period of being with MWEB since NetActive days. I simply don't trust my email address/password to a public network where anyone with sniffer software could see my password. Maybe MWEB could introduce custom username/password combo for MWEB account holders? And please for goodness' sakes make mc2 ssl friendly.

The 300MB includes upstream and downstream as well as overheads. So it is a downgrade, especially if you have Skype sending junk up and down while you're logged in.

Good Day Space_chief, when using sign me in you will notice that it is secured (https). The wireless hotspot logins are definitely secured sites as well.
