THE ANC in KwaZulu-Natal yesterday elected fraud-accused treasurer, Peggy Nkonyeni, as speaker of the provincial legislature.

Nkonyeni is out on bail after being charged with fraud and corruption over an alleged procurement scam in the province’s health department, which she headed under outgoing premier Sbu Ndebele.
