Well in my web wanderings I happened upon the following two maps which immediately made me think of this forum for various reasons. Now I am positive that to some of the more informed members on here this is all old news but I thought I'd share it with all of you anyway.
The first map I have seen recently but the one graph in the lower right hand corner was of particular interest (ie The world's cables in bandwidth). People often take pleasure in comparing the cost of bandwidth in SA to that in the UK, US and even Australia. I think that picture puts it into perspective. Look how pathetic those little lines coming to South Africa look!
The second article/image was very interesting and filled me with hope for the future, although I am in no doubt that we will get comments of we'll believe it when we see it. My view is that the fact it is being discussed and publicised is a great start!
Compare the current SAT3 capacity with what is being forecast/predicted/hoped for!! Yes, please!
