FM / AM USB Tuner for laptop

Hi Everyone

I use a laptop at work and would like to know where I can get an actual FM/AM USB Tuner for my laptop. I do not want to get an internet radio one as my work blocks internet radio.

Please help

I saw that esquire sells them. Maybe you can try them
 
Seems all the recommendations are for FM-only tuners...

I'm also looking for an AM/MW tuner for 567/702.

Any advice?
 
Yeah, I am still looking too.

Why no AM tuner? I will guess it's a cost and demand thing. Most average people would opt for FM only, plus the cost of the integrated FM receiver device is cheaper than the multiband device as it's easier to implement.

Silicon Labs, one of the major semiconductor manufacturers in this field has a range of multiband devices available, more than FM only.

I have some Si4703's on order to play with.
 
My bad, I see 702 is only in JHB and 567 is not on FM

I think the lack of AM tuners is due to most of these really being TV tuners
Picking up radio stations means just tuning to the right frequency

You could always just get a cheapo mp3 player with FM onboard, then just plug the input connection into your sound card, cheap and nasty but hey it's just for radio yes? :)

I hope they work with Windows 7 x64 ... whats the eta on your order? Please do let us know if it works.

They weren't ordered specifically for a USB radio application, but for another industrial type project for a customer. I have ordered a few extra for me to play with, not going the USB route, I'd just planned hooking it up with a micro with 1 or 2 specific frequencies preprogrammed. And it's FM only.

I got the ASUS one from DA but it is rather large, I think I should have gotten the one from Brando instead but at least I can watch TV on my laptop as well now...
