i remember the thread before it was very quickly deleted by MR A after realising that pirate servers are actually wrong, but theses days i can't really give a flying **** about it as there would always be the those who don't want to pay for wow, but in same breath be quick to waste $$$ on something else..

Why would you care?

I dont care that people play on private servers.. I know some people cant afford it.. why would it bother you?
 
It doesn't bother me. What does is when they post it on the forum which always results in a fight. There was even one guy that complained when his server was reported to Wits

If you're doing something illegal, why advertise it? I keep quiet if I'm doing something illegal.

I don't care if people play on private servers. But everyone complains about no local official server. Apparently we are flagged as a "piracy hot spot" so won't ever have a local server until that status goes away. The constant advertising and support for these illegal servers by most people doesn't help the cause much. Anyone ever thought about actually fighting this and showing Blizzard we actually do want a local server?

Playing the original wow costs what? R 120 odd a month when you pay in euro's. Your internet connection costs more than that so not being able to afford it is a really poor excuse.

The Russians pirate 100000000000000000000000000000 times more than we do so that logic is flawed. The only reasons we dont have a local server has nothing to do with piracy, but everything to do with the limited amount of players and the costs of hosting locally.

Most of the people that play WOW are kids... kids dont have jobs... R120 pm is out of the reach of most people who dont work.
 
Blizzard will never give us a BattleNet server. Servers are placed by game sales % and we are somwhere near no. 40 in the world. Also the amount of bandwidth that goes through a BattlNet server is ridiculous, which would be too expensive for SA. Sigh
 
This is n server hosted on an 4mb line.. sigh only supports 30players stable. GamersCube support 2000+ 1000Mb Line dedicated hosted in an server room at Hetzner.

It does help.. How more private servers we host how better, Solution for this is for Blizzard to host an official server here and alot of the private server will vanish.

Lets settle this over a milkshake at the nearest Wimpy with a coin toss. :D lol.

I think it's both ways though. Cost of hosting is a bit costly, and we don't have millions of players, and we sure do love to pirate. :p

Im not sure I would trust the quality of that article. Smells like BS to me :D Where did Nic Simmonds get that information? And if it was even the slightest bit true, then Russia and China would _NOT_ have wow servers. Since they do, that reason given in that article is false.

I wouldn't know im just the average joe that believes any crap fed to him. :p

I still vote a milkshake debate though. (Im just in it for the milkshake and education. lol ) :D
