So a car guard recently asked me if he can watch over my car while I go to the shop (Spar). I told him "No" to his face because I am tired of these guys trying to swindle cash from innocent shoppers. Anyway so while picking up some goodies I decided to buy him a bread (instead of giving him money). To my surprise when I got out of the shop he was nowhere to be seen. I was only in the shop for 5 minutes, tops. I suspected that he may have done something to my car in revenge but it was dark outside and I didn't detect anything.

So this morning I noticed that he had in fact taken his revenge on my car. A nice deep scratch close to the driver's side door. You can see it is malicious because there is a break in the line.

I've got scratch and dent insurance. Does that cover things like this? I know that they are normally full of **** when it comes to things like this. Does scratch and dent insurance normally come with an excess? I'll check the details when I get home tonight.

Paintball gun + permaPVCballs & Pepperballs.

Camp and wait.

That really F'ing sucks dude. Completely Bullsh~t that they pretty much hold us hostage.

Its extortion. Plain and simple. And worse, it works. 100 people will read this thread & be more likely to pay next time they see a guard.

I'm seeing more & more of it in SA. Its always "pay us or we'll harm you". One sees the same mentality on a bigger scale with the strikes too: Eskom, Transnet, Putco, Municipal works, Police, Gov Hospitals etc

I would have bliksemmed him. Even if it wasn't him (which I doubt)!!!

Heel/Boot to the fusking head!!! Damn ungrateful BUNTS!! I'm sick and tired of you owe me this, you owe me that syndrom! See what our excuse for a guavament has bred!

Interesting to see that we have all embraced the whole "guilty until proven innocent" approach here!

And secondly, if I may take a different stance, the OPs first sentence created the impression that he was rather rude to this chap ("I told him "No" to his face because I am tired of these guys trying to swindle cash from innocent shoppers.") so perhaps he will learn to be more courteous to his fellow human in future.

and.. it didn't take long before our resdident TROLL! came along! @Lance(a)sLOT(SA) how is you your sunny Dirtbin day doing?

What a load of crap! They do not insist on money prior to you doing your shopping so how the hell do they know you aren't going to pay later? In this instance, if the guard was guilty of the offence, it was probably as a result of the OPs attitude rather than whether he would pay or not. A greeting or a "sure" would not have meant he had committed to payment later but would have been far more respectful!

Dude ... honestly, what world do you live in and can I get an invitation?

Dude, let's get this straight now once and for fsking all! Just becuse someone does not agree with the generally held racist, I am far superior to you attitude does not mean they are a troll! For fsks sake

If you took your head out your own ass for a second you'd realise that what I am saying is totally true! If you feel not then feel free to argue against what I have said and not merely mumble some crap like you have above.

13,591.. and your still here??? Would have thought you would have be "spanked" by now... unless your a MOD :p

On the balance of probabilities who else would have keyed the OP's car?

If said car-guard wanted to earn something, he would have apprehended the fictitious perpetrator pending the OP's return.

Again, feel free to respond to the words.

Do you think the OPs attitude was perfectly acceptable? "I told him "No" to his face because I am tired of these guys trying to swindle cash from innocent shoppers.". If that had been a girl in a miniskirt selling something do you think his attitude would have been the same? Are car guards lesser humans?

I tend to treat all humans with equal respect. If this is different from the world you live in then I'm afraid that is of your own doing and nothing I can help with!

Dont feed the troll Voicy. It must be so lonely all the up there on his high horse that he resorts to mingling with us mere mortals.

I have about 4 scratches on my car. One of them looks like it could be a key but equally it could have been a branch somewhere. I have never been rude to a car guard therefore I have never jumped to the conclusion that it must have been one of them.... the fact that the OP did draw this conclusion makes me feel he was fully aware that his attitude sucked!

That the OP's attitude was not up to the car-guard's expectations does not give the car-guard any right to inflict damage to the OP's personal property.
