Compro NMC 950 Full HD media player

Also can't find much in terms of reviews or reccomendations. Having the same problem trying to find out more on the Tvix 6600n. Found an australian review and thats all. So many media players, so many choices.

Sold one to one of my clients the other day (R1050 inc VAT) and it seems to be pretty decent. The only thing I didn't like was the remote. You have to point the remote directly at the unit otherwise no go.

Wasp - TViX are awesome ... But the mede8tor does pretty much the same at half the price.

I bought my TViX 6500 for R4500.00 before the mede8tor was out and its awesome - but not R2000.00 extra over the mede8tor :/

Shot. Could get the TVix 6600n for R1650, but have decided to go with the mede8er instead. I don't have anything worthwhile to store from DSTV in any case, so not worth it for me. I know the mede8er and will rather stick with that. Firmware is also a big consideration. Thanks

Where you getting the Mede8er?

Howzit.
Is there a way of playing this unit onto a second tv in another room.

I have the NMC950 and am very impressed so far. Have bought one for a mate too. Plays everything well and isn't sluggish either. Firmware updates are easily achieved by downloading the the file and sticking it in the root of a USB flash drive and updating through the menu system.

Very happy with my choice.

Can you post some screenshots of the menus?

Hi Juggy.

I bought myself the same product.
I seems to have a problem however , or maybe not a problem per say !!

When I switch on my NMC950 then it every time goes to the hard drive format option before I can continue , how do I get rid of this or is this how it should be ?

I thank you in advance for your response!!

Maaik :-)

Howzit Maaik

Have you formatted the HDD inside? I'd imagine it would be a prerequisite?

Yes.You have to first format the hdd when you unbox it, after that just go to Browser on the main menu and start from there.

Yeah, 1st up you need to format the drive for the system. It reserves some space but not sure what for. Once that is done you can use the supplied cable to attach it to your laptop/desktop to copy movies to it.

I have mine setup as follow

Movies
HD
SD
Series
HD
SD
etc

While were on the subject of pc's ,my laptop does not pick up the hdd of this unit at all even after installing the software.I can however transfer files from another ext hdd, via usb, into this one. What could be the problem.

I would say connect everything up and check it out. What OS you running? Remember, if the unit is already turned on when you connect it to your laptop there will be a prompt on the screen to switch to HDD mode so your laptop can make the connection.

So what I suggest is connect your laptop then power up the media player and give it a minute to connect.
