HEEEEELLLLO BIG CHANGE

Still OK here at Ookville.

Not too bad. Ping's a bit high, but it is usable.

Will test at work as well.

The irony is that I've got 8.ta and CellC coverage at home - but only 8.ta coverage at work.

This is the speeds I get with a 7.2Mb dongle and 4-5 bars signal strenght:

UPDATE: Just had 2 colleges use my 8ta SIM in their 21Mb CellC and MTN modems, saw 43ms pings and 10.6Mb download speeds.

I'm in Port Elizabeth.

JHB

CT
http://www.speedtest.net/result/1377090226.png (D=6.77/ U=3.66/ 36)

The JHB result is the same as last nights tests that I did, nothing has changed.
The CT one is completely different to last night, I don't know what happened to the latency but I'm not complaining :D
I did about 10 tests to Cape Town now just to be sure, in case it was a once off thing, they all give the same results (latency 36-43)

The below CT test is one from last night, the best one out of the 8 tests I did last night.

These Speedtests really eat through your data
Any way I'm very happy with the results.

I grudge so others dont have to, I do a lot of research whenever I purchase anything, fiance hates it. Anyways, my 8ta prepaid card is locked to 8ta now without roaming with full signal and several tests showed download at almost 4mbs and upload at just under 3mbs and latency at 80-85. Im getting 8mbs down with cell c and up at around 2-3mbs with between 25 to 40 latency typically. Gonna test the 8ta card for the rest of the week before i decide anything......still the 24 months is a 95% deal breaker.

This is just north of Wanderers, not supposed to be any service here according to coverage chart.

My 8ta phone sim was changed to enable access to the 8ta towers.

Now, do I go for it or not ?

Results this am... Thornton, Goodwood: Huawei E1820 modem, showing consistent 5 bars, rapid fluctuation between 91-99% Signal strength (second by second) fast fluctuation between HSPA+ & WCDMA (minute by minute) Don't know if last two are relevant

Large variation... Also posted speed results in First Experiences thread but without further details

Now if only could get first results on consistent basis

Thanks for also sharing this! I'm considering a 21Mbps 8.ta USB modem with a Poynting rooftop aerial. I'll post results once it's set up.

Really becoming tempting with their prices and options... I really am hoping they spread their 3G towers fast, far and wide...
