Someone on here was interested in live music photography and posted 1 or 2 photos - but can't remember who :( To the person :

When it comes to lens speed, what lens did you go for? I'm guessing at F5.6 things would be too dark - and bumping ISO would make the image to grainy as you'd over 1600?

Seems most 'normal' lenses are 5.6 at zoom ...
 
50mm Prime
You would need to be very close to the band for this one - but I GUARANTEE epic looking pics :love: my 50
 
Hmmm 50mm f1.4 - since i got that lens I've just been itching to take some band shots .. pity I don't know anyone in a band :p
 
It depends on how close you can get and what sort of look you're going for.

Don't be afraid of cranking up the ISO. ;)
 
Fast never hurts but I've found on well lit shows it doesn't really matter. I have shots at 1/400 and ISO400, where I could easily have upped the ISO and gotten away with a slower lens. How close you can get also has a huge influence.

FatBoy Slim? IIRC they kicked us off the stage after a couple of songs and I shot that from the production booth. :)

I only brought the 300mm that night because it was supposed to rain and none of my other lenses are weather sealed.
