Hi

I'm starting this tread to give users an idea of the amount of bandwidth consumed when gaming. Anyone with other stats, etc please post here.

Heroes of Newerth: 43 Min of game time: joined game with in 1 min of logon. 19.01 MB on Cell C branded mobile partner.

Will add other games as I find time to play and record them.

warning: running around playstation home will put a serious dent in your cap. just an hour on the service can chew up about 300mb. this is because it loads all sorts of media in the background that you may not be aware of, including what i assume to be HD promotional videos / trailers. you have been warned!o_O

yeah also noted that with the 360. Just browsing the dashboard while connected eats up bandwidth.

Thanks for the warning, will keep that in mind

i mean playstation home the free virtual world on ps3, not the XMB. but yes, being connected to either xbox live or ps3 does eat up a few megs if you're on for awhile.

On the weekend i used 450megs just for counter strike 1.6... I re-installed it, because i updated it and changed a few settings so it seems much better now. 10 mins on international server cost me 3megs. I was also using game booster on the weekend so maybe that had adverts in the backround or something

download accelerator chews up megs with those annoying flash videos they play to advertise speedbit accelerator etc. i uninstalled it since chrome is pretty fast with downloads anyway.

Get firefox. Add flashblock and scriptblocker and images like opera and you got the bandwidth saving browser (they block flash, scripts and pictures respectively which can be enabled with a simple right click and you can customise webpages.)
