With there being a four way brawl for the title this year, I thought it would be better to start this thread bright and early in the week :D.

The visual drama of the Yas Marina Circuit at twilight is already so embedded in our minds that it’s hard to believe the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is only in its second year. Last season it debuted, this season it hosts the championship decider - the first four-way title showdown in Formula One history.

A friend of mine is going, and I believe that Ferrari World is officially open. What an experience.
Doubt it will come close to Brazil 2008.

I can just see the 2 Red Bulls taking each other out. Alonso is likely to take it, but it should be one hell of a race.

That largely depends.... Vettel has said he knows what needs to be done for the team. I honestly think he will out qualify Mark, which means (pending performance stats of Ferrari) that it might well be a RBR 1 - 2 with Alonso in 3rd. That means that if nothing happens to Alonso, Vettel may well "let" Mark pass, keeping Alonso in 3rd and giving the drivers championship to Webber.

I wouldn't mind if he did win it.... He has been in the game for a long time, often with very mediocre tools at his disposal. I don't think he'll be in the game too much longer and thus the win would give him a good sendoff. However my blood is Red!! Alonso has clawed his way back into contention and I hope it pays dividends for him. As in winning his 3rd drivers championship :)

Redbull have to get a 1-2 finish. I can't see that happening.

Red Bull 1-2, with Alonso ultimately deciding their finishing order. Or, preferably, Vettel, Webber and Alonso smearing each other into the wall on the outside of turn 1, with Hamilton cruising to title no.2

If not, I'll keep my fingers crossed for Webber.

I'm kinda hoping Hamilton gets all upset that he's not getting his way again and drives into a wall... then at least the only ppl who have a chance of getting the championship are those that deserve to win it.

I agree with Phreeme, Vettel is gonna let Webber win it!... Unless Alonso crashes out or gets 8th or less....

Vetel would take poll what happends behind him he has no power over. Vetel wants to be champ just like the other 3 thats still in the hunt.

If Alonso wins the Championship it would be a great shame on the name of F1 because he would only win it because of team orders.

Alonso has always been a great driver I only wish he would stop being a winey little girl and do things right on the track not on thr pit wall.

I have been a Vetel fan from when he was testing for BMW team. I truly hope he takes it... but even if Mark takes the Championship Ill be happy as he has worked very hard for a long time to be in the running.

Lewis can only win if all 3 other contenders DNF.

Anything can happen.

What are the chances of Ferrari Strategically qualifying lower? It will put a LOT of pressure on Alonso on a track not known for overtaking, but really if RBR has the edge on Ferrari there and Vettel out qualifies Webber again, then Ferrari would want to keep Vettel in the lead until the checkered flag, which would mean he would have to pass someone on the last lap.

A long shot, but just throwing it out there :D

Well at least this will be a VERY interesting qualy session leading into what may be a cracker for a Final race.

You lost me somewhere there :D.

I think alonso basically needs to do the business and set himself up for the championship. Relying on people is never a great plan and hamilton and alonso dislike each other so hamilton will be going out of his way to ensure he helps redbull if you ask me. One wonders what hamilton would do if he was winning and webber was sitting second. Interesting times :D.

:D I don't blame you.... the picture I had in my head confused even me :)
Basically, if Alonso wants Vettel to finish first he would need Vettel to believe he is in with a chance, thus Alonso would need to be further down the order. If Alonso Purposefully qualified worse, and let Vettel win, he would potentially have to overtake, which would make that strategy (if you can even call it that - just me thinking crazy) rather dubious on a track not known for overtaking....

Would've been at the race, but education had other plans :(

100% agreed. Great driver but a real d00s

Yeah, he outpaced the "lead" drivers in nearly every single practice that he participated in. I'd be happy if it went to Webber too, this will be his last opportunity.

From F1.com intervew with Vettel:

Q: If you are leading, Webber is second and Alonso is in third, what would you do?
SV: At the end of the day we are employed by the team. And if this situation occurs you do not need to be a genius to decide what to do - you will act accordingly. I am not thinking too much about these kind of situations. I think it is more the people around us that do that - since Brazil I’ve been asked this question quite often.

Unless something drastic happens to Alonso that he ends up 6th or worse, Webber is going to win ... If he gets second or better!
