If you’re an avid consumer and gatherer of media (videos, photos and music), then it’s likely you’ll already have an assortment of storage devices for all this content. If you are a console gamer, you probably also own an Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3. Now add a large screen or highdefinition TV to this mix, stir gently, and finally toss in the Iomega 160GB Media Xporter portable hard drive.

Without needing to set up a complicated home network system, you simply plug the 2.5-inch Iomega Media Xporter into your PC using the supplied USB 2.0 Y-cable, copy your files across, unplug, and head over to your console. Playing/viewing your media is then as simple as connecting the Iomega Media Xporter to your console via a USB port, and browsingyour console menu for a portable device. Really, it’s that simple.
It must be said, though, that most other generic portable hard drives can also be used in much the same way. Alternatively, if you don’t have a game console handy, you can connect the Iomega ScreenPlay TV Link (reviewed in the January issue) to your TV, and plug the Media Xporter into the ScreenPlay to view your media.
