Nokia has this excellent marketing drive at Covent Garden Market in London.

It consists of several boxes, each the size of a small room with life-size representations inside each. One box had a full size office in it, while another had the front part of a car. Another contained a small CD shop, and all played on the idea of ‘extinct technology’.

The message, of course, is that it’s all extinct because the N95 replaces all of these ‘outdated’ activities.

I had an interesting discussion with the reps. Nokia’s timing on this is excellent: with the imminent release of the iPhone they need to corner as much of the market as possible.

The N95 is an incredible little phone, and worthy of Nokia’s catch phrase: ‘It’s what’s become of computers’. Unfortunately for me, it also costs the same as a small computer, so there’s no N95 in my immediate future unless Nokia sponsors me!
