DStv On Demand CatchUp, series recording available on HD PVR 2P decoders

What What WHAT !!!- do i hear "SERIES RECORDING" !!
cant wait to get home to see if this is true.
Dont care much for catchup ( never even used it yet on the SD unit ) but Series Recording - NOW THATS WHAT WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR !!!!!!!

and what for the series recording to **** up when something causes their schedule to change and the EPG is not updated

Ok so how do I know if I have a 2P decoder? All I know is I'm a premier subscriber with a hd pvr decoder.

Uh, not sure if there is a tell tale sign - but only 2 HD PVR's, 1 requires 4 cables (records 2), the other 2 (records 1).
In any case the older PVR always had DOD, now the new one has it as well so both have.

Its small, has the smartcard sticking out, has a bright red light when recording
If you've already have DOD & Series for 6 months then you have a 4 tuner

While eating breakfast this morning before work I was flicking through channels and saw the round green series recording arrows and couldn't believe it! Pressing TV Guide also revealed DSTV on Demand as option 3 as well. My decoder updated at 1AM this morning. I am UBER happy as I am soo tired of setting my recordings every sunday night for the week's series!

Does this work for SD pvr's too ?

DSTV on Demand - yes, you have had it for quite a while..... but they will never release Series recording on the SD PVR's - it's not in the product feature scope

If its not in its scope, why then was it available and working quite well, in that trial software some people had previously before the HD launch?
There were a LOT of complaints, at that time, when it was removed from the final release!

Multichoice waisted time on less necessary upgrades like the "favorite channels" rather than giving us what we really needed like "series record"
what added insult is that they never gave, or have given, a plausable reason for this !

I still own one so would gladly accept Series recording on it because my wife records all of her series on it and I use the HD PVR P2 for our shared series which we watch and my stuff.

I am having a mammoth battle trying to get DSTV to bill me the correct annual subscription so that I can get one month free, yet they keep billing me for the 12th month. So while Off-Topic, it kind of shows my lack of patience with them right now!

I was at DSTV Randburg yesterday afternoon, bending their ear about the fault that affects weekly repeating programs which start between 0000-1059 (and the missing Universal schedules).

The guy I spoke to referred to a debate internally whether to release this update or not. Apparently, they decided to go with it. Found mine updated this morning.
