Reports are out that the beta trials of Windows 7 are going so well they Microsoft may push the predicted launch date of January 2010 forward.

Microsoft stated publicly that they would launch Windows 7, 3 years after Windows Vista which leaves the expected date to release the final version to the market at January 2010.

Speculation is that the launch date will not be brought forward significantly as Microsoft will have to go through the process of testing the various release candidates and then there’s the marketing, packaging and distribution to take into consideration.

We may see Windows 7 pushed forward by a month to December 2009 which would tie in nicely with the Christmas rush.

Personally I’d like to see this product go to market as soon as possible so that I don’t have to put in special instructions to downgrade from Windows Vista to XP.

Windows Vista has improved from its initially bumpy introduction to the market but now the problem is that no matter how good it is, I just can’t bring myself to trust it. There’s a reputation problem associated with Vista and the quicker Microsoft can distance itself from this product the better in my opinion.
