Around 83 percent of workers have admitted that they will take their mobile phone or Blackberry with them on holiday.
The data protection agency, Credant Technologies, interviewed 300 professionals of which 65 percent said they would contact the office either by phone, email or text while vacationing.
According to Reuters, over a quarter said they would check their email during their vacation, and one third would take their laptops
When research of this nature is bandied about it immediately brings to light the need for governments to push information communication technologies.
Increasingly a work force that is obsessed with being connected 24/7 are going to have the upper hand.
Whether the psychological and social fall out from this trend is good or bad is another story, but the fact remains, the most productive societies are going to be the nations that have pushed broadband and other technologies.
