Hi all

I have a big problem on my phone. Everything including email, facebook and BBM are working but I cannot browse any web site on the phone's website browser - it just says the site is unavailable!! But I am posting this by browsing using Opera Mini on the same phone!!

Anyone heard of this? How do I fix it??

What is your APN in TCP/IP settings under Advanced settings. Also are u on BIS or BES

I had the same problem yesterday and today! It just came right by itself! No idea what it was!

I had the same problem 2 days ago, tried everything voda suggested and nothing working. What seemed to fix it was either time or putting it in another non BB phone, cuz after putting my sim in my mothers phone it all started working again. Vodacom said doing that reset some server connection thing.

I had it now too ; just reboot

REALLY glad to hear I am not the only one! Last night after starting this thread, out of sheer frustration, I pulled the battery and sim card out and then re-inserted them. On reboot my browsing was back! Most mental issue I have ever seen on a phone!!

Was very strange, but seeing as its not isolated to a single device it seems that the problem is network related and of no cause of the handsets themselves.

Found a temperory solution in OS6. Its a problem caused by the "BlackBerry Internet Service [Browsing] 2" service book. Just delete that service book for now (must have a 2 in it) and the browser will start working immediately. Seems like there's a problem with that service book which is being pushed to most OS6 devices by the carriers.

The problem is back if you reboot the phone then you have to delete the service book 2 again. Hopefully it will go away soon but its not a major issue for me.

Problem still persisting! It is now becoming an irritation!TX for the service book heads up - it is easier to do than battery pull.

Mine just did it again. Again, yanked battery and sim card out, waited 30sec and stuck them back in and all is well again! Are all you guys on Vodacom? How do we make Vodacom aware of this to stop sending out this faulty service book? Any ideas because going the call centre route would achieve niks!

Much thanks for the service book fix! Will try it next time!

Slightly off-topic, but I suggest you get QuickPull app - much better than physically removing battery.

Have it but it sometimes irritates me by how long it takes to kill the phone. Also still feel that a physical pull is best for electronics.

Guess bottom line is that it should not be necessary.

One day, I will have BIS working and my browser working at the same time...one day

Thats service book suggestion posted earlier worked for me, lasted past the restart too, much quicker than a batter pull.

I think they should make it mandatory that all mobile service centre staff subscribe to MyBB. That way they could actually provide valuable information to their clients. Instead of telling us to reinstall the software! Idiots!
