How correct is CellC's data billing?

Has anyone tired to check their balance while on a internet connection? If so does it give you the right amount?

I know on the 14th I had around a 1gb left,lastnight while downloading around (300mb) I checked my balance and it said 200mb...Download finished,did some e-mail and facebook than got the sms saying data is going. And now R0.00.

I know to get the right balance it should be done without a connection, maybe a certain amount of data might not be calculated. Thou I find it very hard to believe I finished 1GB. There was no other program using the internet connection exp the browser.

Used the MDMA programe and it even says 398.1MB on the previous session. If the Cell C balance said 200mb (and was correct) how come I did about 400mb?

(Just trya find out was it me or the network?)

How long does CellC balance take to update?. I know my Vodacom contract balance takes like a couple hours to get the correct data balance

Pre-paid - Get the 2gb a month story

On prepaid my data balance seems to be running in real-time using the Cell C dashboard or MDMA -- I tested by taking a balance, then downloading a known-sized file, then taking another balance.

What I haven't been able to do though is actually register on the Cell C site to access the balance check it offers there -- I get caught in a loop trying to create an account and being told the account I am trying to create doesn't exist.....

As Terencek said, the data balance runs real-time using the Cell C dashboard. Tested it with first month, and it's quite accurate.
Funny thing happend during the weekend, my data increased to over my 2gig per month allocation! happy times with bonus ps3 online bandwidth!

I am also concerned that it is not being calculated correctly. Last month, Cell C claimed that I used about 700MB more than my router claims... If there were 10-20MB difference, I would understand (connects/disconnects etc), but something is fishy there

Everyone's (2GB & 5GB customers) data got reset to 5gb for this month only after they migrated to new servers during the first weekend of Feb.
From next month you will be back to your usual 2gb limit.

I also have pre-paid and the balance is pretty much live. If I do *101# then download 50MB and do *101# again, the balance has dropped by 50MB.
I don't know about contract though.
