HTC Desire range Gingerbread update plans for South Africa

Good News. I just got my Desire HD less than a week ago. :D
 
Just nitpicking. Gingerbread is 2.3, while the pic for the article shows 3.0, which is honeycomb.

P.S: Been running 2.3 on my hero for almost a month now :)
 
2 months for the Desire, when the first leaks of the official ROMs have only just started to surface on XDA? IBWISI...
 
Good to see that Leaf is getting to this ASAP. Out of curiosity, has the Galaxy S received its 2.2 update yet?
 
Not a bad turnaround time compared to FroYo. I eventually gave up waiting for Froyo and just did it myself. Two months I can do!

I miss my desire when I see stuff like this. Think I might get whatever the new version is when I upgrade next.
 
I wouldnt hold them to this date, they usually been late due to "something".

Although available online from various places, its still cool that FOTA is happening locally.

Leaf's FOTA systems seem to be up and running now, so I don't think that'll be an issue.

Leaf does have a bit of a reputation when it comes to deadlines like this, but I hounded their poor PR & comms guy to make sure that this was indeed the time they estimate an updated ROM to be in the wild.
 
So I am currently a crack whore, how do the new HTC andriod phones compare a blackberry setup, this includes all my free data for mail and browsing etc?
