I have managed to get the Safety Cam feature of CoPilot Live 8 – Android working here's how you do it:
CoPilot 8 can import TomTom POI files (.ov2) and will ask you if the POI file is for Safety Cams. Choosing 'YES' enables the safety cam button & you can set the options to display alerts and the distance ahead to display the warning.
1. Search Google for 'Australia Safety Cam TomTom' or something similar. I used the google search features to display only links 1mth old, so I got the latest file. This site has a recent POI file: http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showthread.php?p=3213676
2. Stop CoPilot on your Android Device
3. Mount your phone on your PC as a USB mass storage device. So you can see the contents of your SD Card.
4. Copy your .ov2 files to /sdcard/copilot/save
5. Disconnect your Android device from your PC.
6. Start CoPilot
7. Follow the instructions in CoPilot – it should import your POIs
- It will ask to import the POIs. I created a new group called 'Safety Cam' & choose the Safety Cam Icon.
* I was then asked if the POI's were Safety Alerts to which I choose YES. Following this the safety alerts button is active & the POIs imported.
I have to take a drive and check this works now. A suggestion if the above fails to work for you – answer NO to the Safety Alert question and just import the POI's . Then choose to be alerted of the POIs in the POI section – not the Safety Alerts section.
