Hi,

Is there any way of finding out what mail is being rejected by Iburst and for what reason as I am having problems with receiving mail from certain legitimate sites and am having to use a Yahoo address in addition to the Iburst one to avoid this problem.
My previous ISP used to direct any mail thought to be spam into the Spam folder where I could then decide whether to delete it or not, but Iburst seems to just reject mail without any notification whatsoever.

Dave.

I had the same problem before with mail being rejected, as well as my mail not being delivered. Eventually my SPAM filters were relaxed which solved the problem. Send your request to the iBurst HelpDesk (and hold your thumbs to get a response), or send your request to [email protected] (and get a much quicker response).

Mail that is rejected is send a reason in plain English and instructions on how to get the mail accepted.

Unfortunately there is no way out except dumping iburst for email.

A lot of email has no human factor involved, and when those bounce the email is lost. We have lost a lot of emails through iburst, don't use them for business or anything important. It is cheap to get your own domain with hosting and mailboxes - to use iburst for email is foolish and you deserve what you get.

+1 - that's what I had to do when I was a subscriber!

Thanks for all the replies and the link to the previous thread.

I don't know whether it is even worthwhile to contact Iburst as from Ronald's reply it is obvious that they do not know about automated billing systems where mail is sent from unmonitored mail servers and as mail is still being blocked they also do not seem able to set up Spam Assassin reasonably.

It seems like a move to Yahoo Mail is going to be the only solution.

I don't know why anybody uses still their ISPs' mail servers.

Gmail have secure SMTP so you can use the same settings no matter which network you are on, you can associate your old email address with your gmail account and send mail 'from' your old address, Gmail can collect email from your old POP mailbox, Gmail has POP and IMAP access, and using Google Apps you can host your own email domain for up to 50 users for free.

If you PM me examples (and include) your UTID I'll take it up with the email administrators.
Ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha ha ha! ctrl-v* infinity. I am going to choke - and I don't even play cricket.

OTOH, this week for the first time since Jan/Feb 2010 my boss received his FNB and Wesbank statements.

Now that choke comment about the cricket was not very nice! Sies!

The Sharks are going to restore some pride by giving those sheepshaggers a snotklap at HQ.
