I need to open & save numerous .txt files each day, and since d/loading IE9 to PC, one of the following messages pops-up every time :

Do you want to open or save .........(such and such a file) from ...... (.co.za) Open Save Cancel x
or

What do you want to do with (file name/no).txt.zip
Open
Save
Save as
Can someone on the forum explain what to click on (exactly where to go) in my settings to change the default(s) & get rid of these irritating msgs. ?
(I don't need / want to be prompted each time).

Thx. in advance.

Yeah, the solution is to quit using IE.

Install a different browser and make it your default and let us know if the messages persist.

There's nothing wrong with IE - just need to change some of the settings once I can get them.
I have Chrome installed, but seldom use it - IE9 is in fact very similar.

never mind then.

:D

My honest opinion: Quit using IE as Gary said. He's most certainly not a noob :)
I've used Firefox in the past and I'm quite sure there are settings in Firefox (easy to find, otherwise I'm sure someone's made an add-on/extension) which will allow you to do this.
