Samsung monitor to dstv decoder?

Looking at the specs from the site you provided, there is a DVI and d-sub input on the display.
That matches the connectors on most modern PC display adapters.

I doubt very much that a DSTV decoder has these connectors as an output so I doubt you will be able to plug the decoder to the monitor.


I also doubt the "dvi to HDMI" adapter would work as this is designed to provide a pseudo video conversion from DVI to a HD display and not the other way round as you are intending. I could be wrong on this as I have never tried it.


And where will you connect the audio from the decoder ?
 
Audio is easy, the PVR should have RCA jacks for the audio, which you put into a cheapie surround system.

If the monitor is unable to decode the HDCP feed from the PVR, then you're going to be out of luck.

Edit - Looking at the spec page I see this -
Special Features MagicBright3, Image Size, Colour Effect, MagicTune .Safe Mode (Down Scaling in UXGA), DVI with HDCP
