So I am trying to download angry birds rio HD, both on iPad and Mac, but the download stops at about 75% and keeps on starting over. I tried everything I could think of but it just doesn't finish the download. All other apps I purchased were downloaded successfully, just not angry birds. Any ideas?

Have you tried going to Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Downloads... deleting the download file there and starting it again?

Damn... I suspect it's a corrupt file in the iTunes store... Did you get any error messages or is the download just looping?

Just looping for no obvious reason. Only once it gave me an 8008 error. File being corrupt. But since I deleted the temp file it shouldn't matter. Or do you think it could be the source file that's got a problem? That would explain why I have the problem on Mac AND iPad.

I'll try again later.

That would be my guess... If your other downloads are working fine but Angry Birds is failing on your iPad as well as your Mac, it could only really be the source file in the iTunes store. Sadly, I have no other suggestions other than iTunes Help/Apple Services and Support or the Angry Birds website.

I'll report it to angry birds, I don't want apple to perhaps ask me about my download location or whatsoever. You never know.

It's worth investigating your connection too.. If you have a 3G iPad try and download it via 3G. Otherwise try and reboot the router or download it with a different connection if possible.

Same problem also with Star Walk, as well as Stick Cricket SA. Fails directly on the iPhone (continually restarts) as well as in iTunes.

Stick Cricket just downloaded successfully. Star Walk still keeps restarting. Seeing its 85MB I keep wasting cap on this :(

Oh, the irony... Tried to download Epicurious Recipes and, wouldn't you know it, download fails and restarts...
Sent a mail off to Apple and got this back:

"Dear Greg

Hi, this is Carol from the iTunes Store Support. I understand that you have not been able to download some of your iTunes Store purchases. I truly apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you. I am sure you are anxious to sort this error out, so I will do whatever I can to help you with this right away Greg.

In my experience I have found that this error is generally caused by a download corruption on your local computer system. This error often occurs when downloads are unexpectedly interrupted.

I have removed the item "Epicurious Recipes & Shopping List" from your pending downloads and posted a fresh copy to your iTunes account "*****@gmail.com" to ensure the best chance of successfully downloading this application.

Before you attempt to download the new file, you will need to complete just a few steps to delete some temporary files on your computer.

In the ~My Documents/My Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Downloads folder there will be a folder named "<track name>_<album name>_<artist name>.tmp." or "<movie name>" or "<tv show name>".

Inside of this folder there will be two files, "info.plist" and "download.plist."

Delete both of these files. Once you have completed this process I would like for you to check for purchases to restart the download from the beginning. This should clear up the error.

1) Open iTunes. From the Store menu at the top, choose Check for Available Downloads. You can also click this link to do the same thing:

https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/checkForPurchases

2) Enter your account name and password, then click the Check button.

I hope this information helps enable you to remove the temporary files and download your purchase Greg. Thank you for your patience and understanding concerning this matter. If you do have any further questions regarding this issue, do not hesitate to email me back, and I will help in any way I can. Have a great weekend!

Sincerely,

Carol
