I have never subscribed to anything, how the **** can they just sub me with no form of acknowledgement from my side

Check hellopeter. Plenty similar stories. Get the shortcode and check waspa and call them to unsubscribe

Is there a way to see a detailed usage history online? I have no idea how much these people have taken, my airtime has been dropping quite wierdly over the past week, like R49 this week...

I don't know about prepaid. But generally for contract subscribers there's a function online on their site.

My Daughter has an Autopage Vodacom Contract & the Waspa charges come on every month. How do I cancel & reverse or stop it as Autopage IS HOPELESS?

I am on an MTN anytime 200 contract, I got an SMS "this is a reminder that you have subscribed our service R7 a day SMS stop to 40977" which I did last week, but to no avail, im still getting charged. ive never subscribed to anything

My daugther was snared into this scam by merely clicking on a web link in a SMS message. Do not ever touch that link - it automatically subscribes you to a service. In our case it was R14 a day.

Opera telecom are still at it. They sent another bulk sms out today, subscribing people to a R7/day service with an ems.cx URL.

They get money from the WASPS. They don't care about the subscribers :P

It sounds like "Content services". Only way to stop it is to phone your provider (Vodacom, MTN, Cell-C) and ask them what content services is on your account and that you'd like to stop it.
You can also try the shop you bought it, some of the sales persons will sometimes help to get rid of it. My wife worked for Vodacom4u a few years back and she help the customers by phoning on their behalf.

Vodacom told me they can do nothing. Got to address it with the CP themselves.

Yes, I received the sms and replied stop to the number.

I'm going to phone Vodacom on Monday to find out what's up?

Go to www.waspa.org.za and lay a complaint for unsolicited commercial SMS. They have been fined for this in the past. Let's nail them again!

I was at it with vodacom last week over operainteractive telecom. On 3 of my top up contracts i lost over R600. Where they deducting R6 per day. My argument is that Vodacom provide a platform for these WASP companies to extort money from the public with scrupulous scams. They are using Vodacom billing infrastucture to get their money. When I ask Vodacom to provide me for what service or how did i benefit of the R6 THEY deducted from me.they could not provide me

So, Vodacom lied about the double opt in?

RPM what about an article having Pieter explain why they are still allowing theft from their customers despite them saying they've changed their system?
