To all those with the HD - could you please respond with whether HTCSense.com is working for you? Specifically the Location service, as the Erase All I don't want to test :p

Only interested in whether HTCSense works or not - because according to my last communication with HTC Support South Africa - my device is defective if its not working.

And according to Leaf Wireless it is working in South Africa.

So - I'm basically trying to see how many have it work - and how many not - to see if I have a 'defective' phone. Reading reports on the internet, I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with my phone.

Sorry in that case no it is not working, it might have something to do with phones from the service providers?

Same as regard to OTA updates people that got phones from SP's had to wait but people that got it direct from leaf did not.

It's highly unlikely that it's your phone, as its integration on HTCSense.com is nothing more than a link via the web. Have you tried deleting your HTCSense account, and then recreating it from the phone & not via the web?

HTCSense thinks my old Desire is an HD, what with the HD ROM and whatnot. It works fine here at present, but it's been a biatch to get working - with numerous deletions and recreations - after a couple of ROM flashes in the past.

Done all the usual tricks. Deleted and recreated account a few times, GPS on and off, Wifi and data connection, turned option to enable and disable the service on and off.

I'm more annoyed with the fact that HTC Support brush it off as a problem with my device (if so, great, give me a new one).... and Leaf Wirelss denying its a problem.

Erasing my phone, and being able to locate it were important selling points due to the issues with my previous phone - I don't want to now rely and test various other software options when the one advertised doesn't work.

I have forwarded this thread to the contact from Leaf Wireless who says it is working.

It was there, got removed during the week, I did get my location to show though, presently I can only get it to ring...

checked again just now, it still shows my location, I did a reset yesterday, it probably didn't resync when I checked :P I also got to set my phone lock message n pin :D Logged on using the arab emarites thingy link, it worked

Got a call from a woman at HTC Support this morning - she confirmed the service does not work, and that they can't tell me when it will be working.

I then sent this information on to Leaf Wireless and the ASASA - whereby Leaf Wireless have replied stating it does work.... a probably know about six people personally who have these devices, I have asked three of them if it works, and it doesn't - I've just popped the other three an email. As far as I'm concerned, Leaf Wireless know there is an issue, and that the service does not work, and they are just trying to buy time with ASASA.

It will be interesting to see whether this actually gets fixed or not.

I also noticed the poll has jumped two positions as working after I sent the link to this thread to Leaf Wireless, and AFTER the HTC Sense site when down - would be interesting if the mods can see if any 'new' members voted. /tinfoil hat

I just checked the site now, can't even log in, site is down for maintenance. Sigh, I also want to be able to use the full function of the site, that or they should provide me with a stand-alone desktop suite or something to interact with my phone and content, the HTCSync program is extremely limited in its use.

For interest sake, anyone on here know of a third party app that plays nice with the android file system like the website is supposed to?

One of my biggest gripes is it keeps stuffing up my contacts.

Been using Lookout mobile now for the past week, well since 2.3 update and I must say that is one of the things I like about it, contact back-up on free version
Also the locate my phone and siren options actually pretty good.
