What a terrible machine to work with. After the setup things run smooth as expected, that is untill the gremlins start climbing out of the paper trays. In next to no time, it jams, it overheats, b!tches and moans at every chance it gets.

If masochism is your thing, you will love working this hunk of junk. Rather buy a Lexmark X738dte.

IMHO you are just a lazy old nutcase that needs help with life in general.
This device works flawlessly not only for me but also for mybroadlband review team.

Pretty grim review for a supposedly "techie" site. Looks like someone copy and pasted from marketing documentation.

Faxing is a mode of communication that I believe is nice to know you have (for when everything else is broken thanks to the zombie apocalypse), but you hope you never have to use (because if you have to use it, you know everything else is completely broken thanks to the zombie apocalypse).

The reviewer couldn't have spent much time in the real world; faxes are still very prolific.

What's the setup for the toner? Normal consumer drum-with-toner arrangement, or have they gone out their way to bring down running costs? I have a Colour MFC - Brother MFC-9120CN that I'm more than happy with. Its party trick is that the toner and drum are sold separately, halving running costs (for an SME device this is outstanding, for an enterprise device, it *should* be standard). At R4k, I'm blown away with what at does (probably 90%+ of this reviewed R35k device), and we have one at work that's been a workhorse for a few years, so it can go the distance.

The problem with these "corporate" devices is the price of accessories. They've probably got a model without the fax unit for R 6000 cheaper. R 6000 for a fax module! I'd rather get a standalone fax for that price, and have some extra redundancy. Any yes, you still need a fax, although the network scanning (and ADF) on machines like these makes it a lot easier to email printed documents.

Anyway, maybe it's appropriate for some offices, but colour gets abused big time, so most businesses will be better off with a black any white unit. We got our A3 Bizhub second hand for under R 10k, including the fax, network printing, and scanner modules. No duplexer though. The reviewer missed a few (all) of the FAQs: cost per page, reliability, does it duplex, does it's ADF duplex, how easy is it to email from it (do you need an in-house email server or not), etc. But it's not the sort of machine I'd consider.

You can stoop to a level and insult all you like, it will not change the product in the slightest way or form. We had both machines, the Lexmark X738dte and the Konica Minolta Bizhub C35 installed within 2 weeks of each other. The Lexmark which I was sceptical about at first really surprised me. The C35 also surprised me, roughly one and a half weeks later with it's nonsence.

The C35 complained about everything from closed trays and panels which it believed were open, got excessively hot after printing <50 pages, etc. The staff in the office spent more time fighting with the device to work as it should than using it productively. The same cannot be said about the Lexmark, which operated flawlessly from day one (and still is).

From an ease of use point of view, the Lexmark really stands out. The low-tech staff had no problem using it in comparison to Konica Minolta, who spent mere seconds infront of the device versus minutes. I'm glad your device works flawlessly, but sadly it doesnt always work as well for others.
