More iPhone 5 rumoured fueld by Best Buy

I just hope my import will be here in Dec, that is if the 5 has a 4" screen, otherwise I will have to think about it.

The deal maker for me would be, iPod touch size and weight, but 4" screen, second prize, iphone 4 size and weight, 4" screen. The rest is ok, will take what i get on those.

They wont change the screen size as it would really p off some developers. Besides the SDK + iOS 5 Beta leaves the resolution exactly the same as the iOS 4. And I doubt the would go for less quality by expanding the display and leaving the ress the same. ie: I dont think they would do the same as HTC 4.7" LCD with Windows Phone 7 on 800x480, its just not Apple's way.

The res will stay the same yes, it now depends whether a 4" screen will still have enough PPI to qualify as a retina display or not. I'm hoping a 4" screen with the same res will still qualify as retina, since it is an apple invention anyway. But if the enlarge the screen, the max would prob. be 4" since bigger than that the PPI will be too low to be a retina display.
 
Anybody going to take bets on when the iPhone 5 will be available locally? Im still using a 3GS but delaying my upgrade for the 5.

Well if the iPhone 4 is anything to go by, then jan 2012 or later. That's my guess, since the local guys were so slow in bringing the iPhone 4 in, the waiting lists were crazy.
 
Probably gonna be marketed as... "the new thinner and lighter iPhone4s" this changes things again.....
