Microsoft considers bidding for yahoo, again

I seriously doubt they would put in a bid for Yahoo of anything even vaguely approaching their original bid...

Yahoo as a business is on the downward slope if you ask me.
 
MS should def go for it and I hope they do.

If they buy Yahoo, they will eat up the gap between them and google in terms of search engine usage as Bing would get a big boost once it takes over Yahoo.

Another bonus would be the millions of email users that still use Yahoo Mai. Anything to scare the Gmail is needed at this point!

This will help advertisers and publishers since it will give Google some competition if Microsoft does this right.
 
You would spend $20billion just to gain a few million (at most) email users... Thats a damn hefty price to pay for no real commercial gain.

Google are more scared by other factors in the MS arsenal if you ask me.. such as things like Windows Phone, the push into consumers living rooms...

Yahoo as an acquisition doesn't seem to make any commercial sense to me at anything approaching the value they initially bid for it, esp since Yahoo search results are already powered by Bing... so MS would gain NO market share increase in actual fact.
