I just wanted to know, has anyone tried this daily giveaway from amazon? I know you have to have an account with them and apparently this giveaway favours USA residents. Today they are giving away this: "Free OfficeSuite Pro 5". The good thing is that once you get the app it is yours forever, which means you can re-install anytime. So, any South African brother/sister who has tried this?

I tried to register in the past but you need a USA residential address or something along that line.
:(

I know there are ways around it, but just too much hassle.

Too bad for us. I guess we just have to keep to Android Market and Samsung Apps.

Like I said, use it or don't use it.

Can't see why this would be a problem, its not like the cards are real. They just pass the checking for valid number on the system.
And you are not paying for anything, the apps are for free. If they open it to use in SA we would not have to go this route, like we have to do with iTunes.

Lol I got it right long time ago... Took long tho but can be done, I got SwiftKeyX which I found pretty cool. I used some fake name generating site but the address is hard to get. Make sure you use a new email just in case. :P

I'm not sure, seems pretty serious to me:
The increase in crimes of identity theft led to the drafting of the Identity Theft and Assumption Deterrence Act.[31] In 1998, The Federal Trade Commission appeared before the United States Senate.[32] The FTC discussed crimes which exploit consumer credit to commit loan fraud, mortgage fraud, lines-of-credit fraud, credit card fraud, commodities and services frauds. The Identity Theft Deterrence Act (2003)[ITADA] amended U.S. Code Title 18, § 1028 ("Fraud related to activity in connection with identification documents, authentication features, and information"). The statute now makes the possession of any "means of identification" to "knowingly transfer, possess, or use without lawful authority" a federal crime, alongside unlawful possession of identification documents.

You're not really "buying" anything with it. I've already got an international address (where my goods go to to be forwarded to me). I just tried it and it works! :)

Did you even read the first sentence from that link?

Identity theft is a form of fraud or cheating of another person's identity in which someone pretends to be someone else by assuming that person's identity...

You are not using anybody’s identity to get anything, it’s a made up name and address.

But I’m not going to get into a p*ssing match about the legality of getting something for free.
Use it or don’t, it’s your choice. I’m done adding my 2c.

Got it! Thanks! There are some good apps and some junk ones. But I'm a regular visitor now ;)

Todays free app is also worth it, I originally brought it on the android store, a little dissapointed to see you can get it for free today after paying R80 for it but it's one of the better non emulated RPG's on the android platform anyone who ever loved the final fantasy games will love this. :)

Yeah what's up with all the free office apps on the amazon market, I already have Officesuite Pro and QuickOffice Pro {both free from the amazon market} and now it's documents on the go and I only got the amazon market about 3-4 weeks ago, I am not complaining just find it wierd there are sooooooooooooo many other intersting apps out there that I would love to have anyway nice shot for the news.

I know, but am actually glad this happened, so now I can test either or when I want to select the best one.

I must admit the Document on the go is nowhere near as good as the new Quickoffice Pro suite.
