Anyone has the new 9360?
How is the battery life?
I barely get 6 hours on normal usage!!

Checked the net, OS 7.0.0.530- BlackBerry Handheld Software v7.0.0.2259 is latest phone software.
Should solve some issues.

Local providers still on OS 7.0.0.353- BlackBerry Handheld Software v7.0.0.1680.

Anyone ever upgraded with another providers firmware?

One way to sort it out temp is to switch to 2G only, which works fine for emails and odd browsing, if you need a heavy session switch it back to 3G. I just got a galaxy S2 and my GF got the 9360 last wed, and when I 1st started using my phone I barely got 10hours, now with only 2G nothing else changed I'm on 13 hours since charge and 60% battery, normally my phone would be on charge now. Granted the net is now slow but at home I use wifi so that's okay... I know it's maybe not what you're looking for but will def help.

Nope, don't want to switch between 2G and 3G.
If the firmware update don't work then phone is useless to me.

Cool, well as I said its just one way to improve the battery life. You could also turn off gps.

Gps is turned off.
Nice phone but 6 hrs use is just pathetic

On Blackberry website there is a new firmware for MTN SA. Updated the wifes phone last night. Full charge from 7pm. checked @ 7 this morning, battery went down by 20%. Much better as it would normally be @ 50%. Will check over the next few days. Battery also does not feel as hot.

I did the update on monday, haven't seen any change in battery life.
But at least now I can reboot fone & it works, no need to reflash/ redo software!

ive loaded .530 firmware(comes with .353) and the heat is still there when I switch 3g on start a large download but not as bad as before. Now I just leave 2g on all the time. Im hoping the heating issue gets completely sorted out with firmware upgrade later.

Is anyone else having an issue?

Hey guys

I had such problems with the battery life of my 9360, hardly got 5 hours life when using my phone. Even when just leaving the phone for a few hours not being touched drains the batter.

I have found a solution tho. My phone easily lasts over 24 hours with moderate use. You need to download the 7.1 software from another carrier, not your normal carrier. This makes no difference to your phone and everything will still work exactly the same way.

This is the version you need

BlackBerry Handheld Software v7.1.0.1133 (Multilanguage)

Package Version: 7.1.0.1133
Consisting of:
Applications: 7.1.0.336
Software Platform: 9.6.0.51
File name: 9360M_PBr7.1.0_rel1133_PL9.6.0.51_A7.1.0.336_Telenor_Norway.exe
File size: 231.59MB

You can download this software here:

https://swdownloads.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A5585A4D4B12277FEE5CAD0880611BC6

In order to install on your device, install the software you just downloaded from the link above, also note you do not need to remove your existing blackberry software on your computer.
Once installed then navigate to "c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader\" and delete the file called "Vendor.xml"
Once deleted you can then open Apploader.exe in the same directory. Click next next next and make sure you select to backup your device before installing the firmware. The apploader will save all your messages, call logs and contacts on BBM. Nothing changes other than the battery life.

Another handy feature that comes with 7.1 is the ability to use your phone as a Mobile Hotspot so other devices can connect to it via wireless and use the phones internet connection.

Hope this helps. I hated this phone before i installed this firmware, now i love it. Took ages to find software that knows how to conserve battery.

The phone takes LONG to start up. Battery life is terrible. Phones gets boiling hot after 10 min of use!

Nice looking phone but to be honest they produced a piece of crap just like the 8520.

This is why blackberry is going bankrupt!
