Is it a legit process from Standard Bank?

On mobile and busy reading through the FAQ's.

If it is. Its something that I as a non c/card user have been looking for.

Unlike standard banks ridiculous 3.5% fee.
That is R35 for a R1000.00 transaction. WTF!

Better for fraud I suppose? Easier for you to keep track of purchases?
Also its likely to do with the legislation or manner in which c/cards are usually handed out.
There's no credit check involved. Not really sure. 3.5% fee per transaction seems hefty. Would encourage me to make more purchases and be a volume user if it were less.
Would have to be very careful with this.

Has Standard Bank made any announcement wrt to this site and product?

See my post above. Was just doing the numbers on R1k myself. Will check out the other linj you mentioned earlier.
 
Rather use https://www.vcpay.co.za/
It's much cheaper (read FREE) and can be funded via EFT (at any bank), or at pick 'n pay/spar/boxer stores.

I use it for international and local online shopping & telephone purchases (take aways/Movie tickets)
 
So you'd be able to swipe your debit card at PnP, etc to load your VCPay account? If so, that means its free to me as a Capitec acc holder.
 
That's correct. I bank with FNB and swipe my card to fund the account and earn eBucks. Win Win Situation :)
 
When you download & register the application, you will get a unique reference number (like a bank account number).
You go into pick 'n pay or spar and tell them to perform a payment into that number (it's like paying telkom/city power @ pick n pay).
Your VCpay account will be top up'd by the amount (it takes like 12 hours). If you need instant funds into the VCpay account, you can transfer money via EFT into their (VCpay) FNB account. Since the EFT is FNB2FNB, that top up takes around +-10mins.
The VCpay company has accounts at all fours banks, so you can perform ABSA2ABSA etc.

You earn your eBucks via the swipe.
 
I wonder if you could use VCpay to pay for apps on the android app market. Does anyone know if you can use it with google wallet?

I use VCPay for buying apps on BB App World, so it should work on the android market.
Regarding google wallet, I believe for now google only accepts cards from CitiBank, but in the future I'm sure you will be able to use VCpay.
 
Thanks for the VCPay link - Standard Bank can go screw themselves, wife closed her account yesterday with them and I'm about to cancel mine very very soon.

Moving to Capitec but lack of cheque card is an issue but VCPay could swing me sooner than latter :)
 
Apparently Capitec will have a credit card solution soon, so that will be a big win for me and will possibly make me move over to them as well.

Seems like I will need a Blackberry but I will try it out when they get a android app.

Capitec will be launching there MasterCard debit card. So this will allow you to transact online. However, I still believe VCpay is the safe solution.

Hello ! I'm a bit new to eBucks. Just applied recently. So am I to understand that using an FNB business cheque card ( the Fnb essential account), online, does NOT earn one Ebucks? You only earn when you actually swipe the card at a till point ? I usually pay the bills and rates etc, at an Easypay till point at Shoprite, with just an Absa debit card. No issues with Easypay that way. This means, that if one just wants to pay their bills, one can use their Fnb cheque card as a debit card and swipe it at an Easypay point, earning eBucks and not having to use this vcpay thing ?
