RIM handing out free PlayBooks to Android developers

Don't know how useful this will be. We have had a couple of playbooks for months now (As well as about 20 other tablets)
All major devs will already have playbooks. They have just decided to to bother with the platform.
Although Android devs might not be a bad market to target

Well when we started the new mobile division, we only had space for 3 environments and management called for iOS/Android and Windows Phone. Seeing that they had no plans on even looking at BB at that stage I welcome this move as it will allow us to enter that section with limited to no increase of staff or capital outlay.

Who am I kidding.... I just hope I get the playbook for free so I can play with it. Already have a iPad and Eee Pad so not gonna fork out money just to play with a device.

Do you have the new PlayBook 2.0 update though which has support for Android applications?

They want Android developers to try it because they will need to repackage their Android applications for the BlackBerry App world.
